John and I established an alliance across the Atlantic that was a total success with the establishment, thanks to John's leadership and support, of NhN in Spain. We helped 100 people land jobs. I was invited by John to talk at FDU leadership class where I met a group of very enthusiastic students. John's generosity and leadership are some of his essential features. I am very gratefully to him.

I first met John in January 2020. The company I was working for was going out of business and having mass lay offs. John was instrumental in establishing a website that connected these recently laid off team members with prospective employers elsewhere. John also mobilized the connections within his own substantial industry network on behalf of those recently displaced to help them find work. John did this completely out of the goodness of his heart. John has blessed many with job placements and given hope to many many more displaced workers from Lucky’s Market’s closing. John is a leader, a self starter, and a reliable partner, possessed of a generosity of spirit that is in short supply in our world today.

If it wasn't for John Fugazzie and his extreme diligence and hard work I would still be unemployed. John and I met under unfortunate circumstances when I was wrongfully terminated at work. John and I have been colleagues in the corporate world but worked most closely in the organization John founded, Neighbors-helping-Neighbors. John was part of a neighborhood support group for individuals in career transition. The economic conditions at the time were quite dire, and John spearheaded the growth and expansion of the organization, helping hundreds of people re-invent themselves and secure new and rewarding positions. In my experience as a personal advisor and Board Officer for NhNUSA, I found John to be passionately dedicated to helping others and making a success of every endeavor he is part of, whether in academia, not-for-profit, or corporate. I had the pleasure of meeting John R. Fugazzie through the group that he founded Neighbors-helping-Neighbors at my local public library. I was able to attend presentations that his group sponsored with recruiters, employment managers and subject matter experts. The group that John founded and directed provided immeasurable support to those who were unemployed and under employed trying to update and expand their skill set in a very difficult economy. John is a hard driver so if you are looking for someone to coddle you look elsewhere. However if you are looking to increase your skills, knowledge and marketability John's a great contact to have. I had the privilege of meeting John through my participation in the group he founded, Neighbors Helping Neighbors, first as a weekly meeting attendee and then as a board member. He is a true leader, with incredible passion and energy and the ability to utilize available resources effectively and efficiently. John has the innate ability to get things done with skill and precision, no matter how big or small the project - or the budget (even with $0) - or how imminent the deadline. Two weeks prior to the second anniversary conference for Neighbors-Helping-Neighbors, we lost our venue due to a scheduling mishap on the part of that venue. Without flinching, John shifted gears and quickly set a new plan in motion. He procured a replacement venue, raised $2,600 in a week and arranged for several high value speakers to present on a pro-bono basis. In Neighbors Helping Neighbors, John created and leads an ever-expanding group that serves as an incubator for the continuous flow of "pay-it-forward" acts by others. This pay-it-forward mentality, which John spearheaded, pervades through NHN's members, leaders, friends, and, often, complete strangers. Very few people - if any - could do what John has done with NHN. With no money, he has taken a local weekly meeting group of 3 or 4 people and turned it into a nationally-recognized organization with over 1000 members.

It became clear to me that John's NhN program was more than just a great idea ... it was the missing link in getting people connected to those who could actually help them -- who in most cases were local residents, merchants and business professionals. As an event presenter, I learned that John has a clear mastery of logistics and planning. We are facilitators and members of a large and rapidly growing, free volunteer led job support and networking group started by John Fugazzie. I was extremely disappointed to learn that he was impacted by the recent downsizing at the Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company. As the founder of the Neighbors-helping-Neighbors USA organization John has helped thousands of people in the Greater New York area and beyond to survive in a challenging economic environment. John has created, led, and transformed a grass-roots group with no funds into a potentially nationwide organization that has gained considerable media attention in recent months, and was invited to a White House Forum with the Secretary of Labor now making NhN nationally recognized.
His leadership, organizational skills and ability to make things happen for people facing difficult times is a rare gift. Neighbors-helping-Neighbors USA has provided training, support, and a renewed sense of hope for many. It has brought together people of diverse backgrounds into a community where helping others is the primary goal. Hundreds have returned to work as a result of his efforts and each week brings new success stories. John’s professional credentials speak for themselves.
