Myers-Briggs Personality Test16 personalities is free and based on the Myers–Briggs Type Indicator assessment is a psychometric questionnaire designed to measure psychological preferences in how people perceive the world and make decisions.
These preferences were extrapolated by Katharine Cook Briggs and Isabel Briggs Myers from the typological theories proposed by Carl Gustav Jung, and first published in his 1921 book Psychological Types. Jung theorized that there are four principal psychological functions by which we experience the world: sensation, intuition, feeling, and thinking. One of these four functions is dominant most of the time. I have all my NhhUSA members, FDU students and anyone who comes to me for help with their job search or career advancement start here by finding out what jobs fit your personality. Remember if you are doing work you have a passion for and love it is not a job it is a life passion. If you can also get paid for it imagine how great that also is. Many do not get to do what they love but their pursuit of it needs to continue as they become life learners and keep working towards their goals. For many you can also get your passion in your community service and volunteer work and sometimes for many of us that can end up leading to a career that aligns you with your passions. My work with founding NhNUSA and working with other community efforts i have been involved in has allowed me to tranistion my career to have this alignment. I would want this for you also. But it take work and committment on your part. Candidate Networking Profile (Company Targets)The Candidate Networking Profile is very important planning document for job seekers and those also looking to advance their careers. To reach your goal you need to know where you are going. All your networking efforts will be directed and focused by having this plan. It is a fluid document and use whatever format you like just make sure you do one and continuously update it as you learn more about your job industry and career goals.
Make it graphically pleasing so you can send it to your networking contacts via email or hand them out at face to face meetings. Continue to adjust it adding and removing companies as you learn more about the market and your desired career goals. One sales person I met when networking had a list of logo's of the companies she was looking to connect with to sell her payroll services. Very effective and visual. I provided two file formats here so one you can print out as a guide the other you can use as a template and overwrite it with your info if you like the format or change it to suit your needs.
Matt who is a Gen Y recently out of college who wanted to advance his career took Marissa's sample and adapted it for his needs. He landed a job at google a short while afterwards.
