"John Fugazzie is the founder of NHN (Neighbors Helping Neighbors) which got its start in 2011, while he was unemployed. Since it's founding the organization has grown from a 3 person meeting in one location, to over 550 people meeting all over the state of New Jersey, as well as other states and countries. NHN looks to develop skills for people in search of their 'perfect' job. NHN has received recognition from several news outlets such as the New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and more. Fugazzie has gone on to create Smart Job Hunting America - The Institute of Career Education to help job seekers both nation and worldwide. NHN provides mentoring, career management advice from those who are employed, business consulting services, technical advice and marketing services for non-profit organizations. In addition to his other many accomplishments John was recognized by New Jersey governor and Lt. Governor for his volunteer work".

Thank you for nominating an "Unsung New Jersey Hero" for the 2020 Russ Berrie Making a Difference Award. In light of the many uncertainties created by the COVID-19 pandemic, the selection of Honorees and the Award Ceremony will not take place in 2020. The Russell Berrie Foundation, headquartered in the epicenter of this unprecedented public health crisis, will be focusing their efforts and resources responding to COVID-19 critical needs.
Individuals nominated in 2020 will be considered again next year, and as a nominator, you will be on our mailing list to receive information about the 2021 nomination period. Next year will mark the 25th Anniversary of the Russ Berrie Making a Difference Award, and we look forward to a very special year celebrating the Unsung New Jersey Heroes who make a difference in our communities every day.
